CMA Awards Boost Country's Lady Antebellum Into the Top 10

It looks like it's time for Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts to make some room. Lady Antebellum are the latest country act endearing themselves to pop audiences. With a boost from winning Single of the Year and Vocal Group honors at last week's Country Music Association Awards, Lady Antebellum's single "Need You Now" has surged into the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 after lingering for a few weeks just inside the top 30. The song has a slightly dark tone in its musing on regret and yearning in love relationships. The album Need You Now will be in stores early in 2010. Lady Antebellum have made a major splash among country audiences taking these key awards with music from their very first album. It is yet to be seen if pop radio will fully embrace the song "Need You Now," but it is clear Lady Antebellum are on the radar of many mainstream pop fans. The song and group could be the first major country crossover of the upcoming new decade.

Allison Iraheta's "Friday I'll Be Over U" Video Launches and It's Instant Fun

Allison Iraheta's music video for her first single "Friday I'll Be Over U" has debuted at Yahoo! Music. It's fun, sassy and totally Allison. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better package for a first single and video from a major American Idol competitor. Just like the song, the music video is pure fun from the start. Lyrically, the song is about a bad relationship, but it's such a fizzy three minutes of pop-rock that you are unlikely to do anything but smile. X Factor Finalists' "You Are Not Alone" Michael Jackson Cover Fastest Selling UK Single of the Year So Far

Combine one of the world's top talent shows and one of Michael Jackson's most poignant songs, how could you lose? Apparently you can't. This year's charity single by X Factor finalists is selling at breakneck pace this week. The midweek sales figures in the UK stood at 82,000 copies guaranteeing the record is on its way to #1 and most likely the biggest first week sales of the year so far. "You Are Not Alone" seems a near perfect choice for this year's charity song benefiting Great Ormond Street Hospital. Check out the video below.

Nick Jonas and the Administration Will Debut Live at Grammy Nominations Concert December 6, 2009

The Jonas Brothers side project by youngest brother Nick is coming your way just after Thanksgiving. The group will debut live at the Grammy Awards Nominations Concert on December 2, 2009. Then the first single "Who I Am" is due in digital stores the following day. The Nick Jonas and the Administration album was recorded in Nashville while the Jonas Brothers were on a two week break. The group includes producer John Fields and musicians who have worked with Prince and the New Power Generation.
