Vans Vault Nubuck Pack

Vans has released a new Vault collection that features the Sk8 Hi LX as the base for the series. The pack comes available in 3 different colorways.

Vans decided to play around a bit with the materials in this pack - with each sneaker featuring a nubuck upper. You have three options to choose between - either a sea green, maroon or black colorway. Additionally, all three sneakers features contract stitching to match the colorful laces chosen and packaged for each design.

The Vans Vault Sk8 Hi LX nubuck pack is available now through select Vans retailers. Also, be sure to check out some of the other Vans Sk8 Hi sneakers available now.

Vintage Kicks For Holiday Gifts!

Whatever your holiday, it's a season of gift giving. And even if it's just a birthday, nothing would make a sneakerhead more excited than to open up a wrapped box from Grandma and finding a pair of really cool vintage sneakers.

So I've been browsing Ebay and found myself in Adidas heaven. However, I quickly found out that all the slickest styles and colors were in sizes not for me or anybody I knew. Half of them were fitted for elves.

If you're one of those lucky people with stretchable feet, Ebay is a goldmine for cool kicks right now - if you know what's good. Any Nike or Adidas vintage sneakers from the 80s are worth grabbing. The more classic and clean a pair looks (new soles, sleek and simple detailing), the fresher they are.

So dive in and browse for the cool kicks before the rest catch on. It's been a couple of years or more since Ebay has churned any cool deadstock or 80s sneakers. Everyone went to selling all that was new and kind of abandoned the classics. For a moment at least. So get them now while they're still rolling, flowing, gone.

Adidas Drops Another Ode to Ghostface Killah

The adidas Stan Smith "Ghostface Killah" pays homage to tribute to Ghostface Killah, aka Tony Starks, of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Featuring classic Stan Smiths in a sunny colorway: gray suede uppers with yellow and orange interiors and soles, these kicks remind me of the sunshine hitting the concrete pavement.

Atmos creates a Nike Air Troupe Mid for the girls. To be available for $123 next week via Atmos, the price tag is kind of low for the mountain load of leather, plastic and rubber you get for the Nike price - if you know what I mean.

Zeha Berlin

If you grew up in America, most likely you think of velcro strap sneakers, Nikes, or Adidas as the sneakers of your youth. However, for many Europeans, it was Zeha.

With designs inspired from the Communist times in Eastern Germany, this old school line of sneakers from the former German Democratic Republic is making a comeback after its swift death in the 90s. By aiming to create a niche for itself with edgier styling - Zeha-Berlin has also created two homes for itself in former East Berlin. Their shoes are exclusive finds like rare wines only for the sneaker connoisseur with a taste for notes, tones, and range.

So why would sneakers that remind people of concentration camps and Hitler be so hot in Germany after all that stuff gave the country such a bad rap? If I were in charge of Zeha, I'd put the kibosh on bringing back designs that conjure up the bad.

At the same time, Zeha the brand in the 70s and 80s looked comparable to vintage Nikes. Not too long ago, I was sitting at a train station in Spain and saw a clan of breakdancers all sporting Zehas to match their competition outfits. They had matching bandannas on their heads and the leader looked like "Turbo" from Breakin'. It hit me then that the way we saw Nike and Adidas in old school street culture is how some of these kids translate Zeha - and Gola.

I don't know if Zeha's "Communistic" brand is going to make waves in the States. The sneakers feature a narrower shape than what average US sneaker brands offer. Yet, trends do travel east to west. All it will take For Zeha to find their niche stateside is a few cool, innovative designs that nobody else is offering. Maybe work on internal engineering. Definitely offer slick styling that goes with American "chunkier" and "wider" shaping preferences. Focusing on these key elements - Zeha may have some success in the states. Or, they can always draw up a nifty press release and feed it to the hype machines.

Vans Nouveau Grandma's

Vans and old school go hand in hand. So if you ladies are looking for some old, old, old school sneakers for the wardrobe - you might wanna consider a pair of the Vans Sophie's.

The sneaker will be available in three colorway styles - a black/white (pictured above) with leather upper, a blue colorway featuring a full canvas upper and white contrast stitching, or a checkered black/gray that also features a canvas upper. The white/black is the most conservative of the bunch - while the blue is the more playful. The checkered black is the loudest of the pack.

The Sophie is part of Vans upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 line. Expect to see these in stores possibly by end of January. In the meantime, check out some of the other ladies sneaker styles available from Vans online now.

Reebok Pump Sneakersnstuff

Celebrating it's 20-year anniversary, Reebok has really been pumping out their Pump line of sneakers as of late. The famed line is very much what gave Reebok a big boost to their brand image - and no doubt the struggling sneaker brand would like to try and bring back those good 'ol days of recognition and respect.

Reebok has been teaming up with many other brands and artists to help deliver multiple, limited-edition Pump designs. One of the latest collaborations (pictured above), is with Stockholm-based retailer Sneakersnstuff. This Pump sneaker features a gray/graphite colorway, finished in a wool and nubuck leather upper. The shoe was designed with durability in mind - particularly to accommodate the cold winter months ahead. These added features include rugged lace hooks, Thinsulate lining and Reebok "Play Dry" Technology.

The sneaker is available on November 20th but it'll be a tough one to grab. Only 31 pairs have been made for this collaboration. So unless you got a homie in Stockholm with really good connects in the sneaker scene - you might wanna check out some of the more readily attainable Reebok Pump sneakers available now online.

Puma Fluorescent Sneaker Pack

So, recently we had Vans going the neon route with a series of the Classic sneakers featuring full-on 80s insanity. Not to be outdone, Puma has sneaked in their own release of brightly bold sneakers - with a fluorescent series of sneakers that features the Puma Clyde as its base.

This Clyde pack comes in two different colorways. The first, pictured above, is a fluorescent orange and blue number, featuring a suede upper and rubber outsole. The second option in the pack features a fluorescent green suede colorway, with a grape colored outsole. Both are bright and bold and most certainly will stand out from a crowd - unless you're in a room full of other people wearing them. That would be awkward.

This fluorescent Puma Clyde pack is now available at select sneaker retailers with a retail price of $79. Also, be sure to check out some of the other Puma Clyde models available now online.
