BeBe Winans Off Oprah's Karaoke Challenge

Watching the semi-finals of Oprah's Karaoke Challenge yesterday and the announcement of the three finalists on Fridays Live today, you may have noticed someone missing who was a large part of the competition -- BeBe Winans. After a performance of Oprah's new favorite song "Grace" with sister CeCe, Oprah stated that BeBe would be returning to help with the karaoke contest, but because of domestic assault charges that have been filed against him, Oprah's rep Don Halcombe announced that BeBe would no longer be part of the segment or future episodes.

The competition has progressed seamlessly with Abraham, Donnie and Rob announced as finalists on today's episode. Look for the three to perform next Thursday and to see who will be announced as the winner of Oprah's first Karaoke Challenge.

Is 'Oprah' Leaving CBS for OWN?

It is very public knowledge that Oprah's contract for The Oprah Winfrey Show with CBS ends after the 2010-2011 season. There have been a number of rumors, since the announcement of the OWN network, that Oprah would possibly end the show and focus her attention on the network, or simply move the show from to OWN. Recent reports have stated that Oprah confirmed that the latter is true, that she has decided to shift networks after her contract ends and make The Oprah Winfrey Show the centerpiece of the new network. Oprah and her team confirmed today that she has not in fact decided if she will stay with CBS, step back from regular television, or move her show to OWN, but that she will make her decision and an announcement by the end of the year.

Friday, November 6, 2009 Oprah Show Today - Friday Live with Mo'Nique & Karaoke Challenge

Mo'Nique, Anderson Cooper, the 8 semi-finalists of the Karaoke Challenge, and the revealed cover of O, The Oprah Magazine featuring Ellen DeGeneres. Today's edition of Fridays Live was filled with updates and announcements.

Did you vote last night for your favorite singer in the challenge? Abraham, Donnie and Rob received the most votes and will be competing in the finals next Thursday. But don't feel sorry for the 5 eliminated semi-finalists, they walked away with $25,000!

Oprah's conversation with Mo'Nique about the release of the film Precious was very open about the character of Mary Jones and how Mo'Nique went deep to become a monster in the film. The movie comes to a theater near you on November 20th. Also coming soon is the December issue of O Magazine featuring Ellen DeGeneres, hitting newsstands November 12th.

Thursday, November 5, 2009 Oprah Show Today - Oprah's Karaoke Challenge

If you love karaoke and singing competitions, today's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show was for you. Oprah kicked off the semi-final round of her Karaoke Challenge with BeBe Winans and judges Ashford & Simpson, Gladys Knight and Billy Ray Cyrus. Eight people make the round and were given the opportunity to perform on Oprah's stage for your votes. Anna, Matthew, Grace, Tara, Rob, Donnie, Kristina, and Abraham sang everything from country to R&B and received encouragement and comments from the judges. The first Karaoke Challenge had a great group of competitors who will find out tomorrow on the Fridays Live show who was voted in to the finals and the top three. Who will you vote for? Find out tomorrow who will be performing on next Thursday's show.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 Oprah Show Today - Out of the Box Challenge

Do you ever feel like you are stuck in your life? Could you use a challenge that makes you step out of your comfort box to possibly find a side of yourself that you never knew was possible? Oprah, Ali Wentworth, and Hilary Swank helped five women do just that on today's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

I have to admit, I was incredibly inspired and impressed by the four women Ali challenged to try new things, and at the fact that she did them as well, right along side the other women. Roller derby, skydiving, and skinny dipping were the challenges that had the word "fear" written all over them. The women faced those fears and came out the other side with a rejuvinated sense of strength and confidence they thought they had lossed.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 Oprah Show Today - Oprah Anchors the News

Do you remember your first job? More than likely it's a memory that will stay with you for a lifetime. Oprah had the chance to go back to her first television job on today's episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show by sitting in and anchoring the Dallas news. While Oprah, Gayle, Nate and Ali were in Texas for the state fair, Oprah took the opportunity to re-live her experience from the Nashville news and even invited her old boss on to share stories. It was great to see clips of Oprah from the 70s dressing like Mary Tyler Moore and showing off her natural talent for talk and TV. In addition to Oprah's first job, she also welcomed Kirstie Alley, Suze Orman and Martina McBride to go back and visit their past jobs and report back. Kirstie Alley was as funny as ever and shared news on a show she is starting with A&E - it seems there is more to this woman's story than we've seen so far and I look forward to seeing it.

It's been 4 years since Oprah staged the bra intervention that literally changed lives and it has remained one of the most talked about episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah decided to 300 audience members to the show for a new kind of intervention on today's show -- accessories. Shoes, handbags, jewelry, and scarves were the target of the fashion blunders that needed to be repaired by Oprah's style experts.

Through all the interventions the experts aided in during the show, the tips that continued to come remained keeping colors and styles classic and timeless, matching tight color to boots, and keeping items age appropriate with the proper fit and size. Seeing all of the accessories showcased in the episode, it was hard not to want to run over to Zappos and go shopping. Lucky for the audience member, they received $100 gift cards to the popular site.

For the first time since the tragic loss of her husband, Patrick Swayze, Lisa Niemi sat down with Oprah and spoke about their life and love for today's Friday Live episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. I found it touching to hear that while the pair had been together since their teenage years, their life together wasn't perfect, but their love for each other was always worth the effort to stay together. Lisa shared that moving forward, she hopes to prove that all of the great things her husband thought about her were true.

In addition to Lisa Niemi's first interview, Oprah also revealed the 8 semi-finalists in the karaoke challenge. Viewers will be given a chance next week to see them perform and vote for who will go into the finals.
