If you've been thinking of induction cooking but replacing your current range is not high on your priority or budget list, there's a couple of ways you can break into this faster mode of cooking, without a major investment.

One option is to install a small induction cooktop on your countertop. This Summit SINC2220 12" cooktop is a nice size with two cooking zones, 8 power levels, pot detection sensor and nice safety features.�� Beware - it would require installation though, so be prepared to read the manufacturer's guide for best final results.� Summit also has a one heating zone model, the SINC1110 if smaller is better for you.

Oil-Less Frying With the Big Easy

Oil-less frying - the term sounds somewhat contradictory and some could even argue that it's not frying at all.� But whatever you call it, frying without oil takes all the fear and worry out of frying in an outdoor cooker.�� I was curious to see (and taste)� how a turkey fried in an oil-less fryer would turn out.� You may have heard the term infrared technology - in fact I think there are saunas that use a similar heat process, but I had never cooked (or fried) with it before.�� Apply this heating process - or rather frying - to food, and you get a nice crisp exterior with juices and flavor sealed in.�� So, don't stay too long in those saunas!

Now, this is not necessarily a speed cooking process, though it did cook the turkey in much less time than in the oven and it was comparable to oil frying. � Other tested meats took a little longer than expected, but I can blame that on the weather.� I think I'm hooked on this style of outdoor frying, especially for turkeys and large cuts of meat.� If you're looking for an alternative turkey cooking method for Thanksgiving, you may want to consider it - it can handle up to a 16-lb bird.� Learn more about Char-Broil's the Big Easy Outdoor Fryer and find out how it performed in my Big Easy review.
