Love Stories Wanted

Valentine's Day is next Tuesday and love is definitely in the air. Love is an important element in the human experience. There are so many ways to love one another. The romantic fool that I can be at times decided to put out a call for your love stories. It can be about your current lover, or about the time when you had that secret crush on a girl in your math class, or about the first time you met your knight in shining armor. It's up to you!

Archangel Raphael - Master of all Healing on Earth

Reader Question: My mother just passed suddenly and my heart is broken over this loss. She lived with us for years. We had to remove her off life support which was a very difficult choice. Do you think she can forgive me for this? ~Love and Light, Lisa

Eileen's Response: Dear Lisa, Yesterday I asked the angelic realms "Which angel would like me to write about them for this week's column?" Immediately, Archangel Raphael's energy came to me and he let me know he wanted to speak with everyone this time, through me. He said I would find a question he wanted to answer in my e-mail. As I was scrolling through everything that came in I heard Raphael say "That's the one" as I came to your question.

So Lisa, if nothing else, know that you have a powerful Archangel so close, ready and wanting to help and assist you that he was aware you were writing an e-mail to me. Yes, they really are right there for all of us. American poet Wendell Berry once wrote, "We cannot comprehend what comprehends us." If I teach nothing else through my healing work and writing know this: angels are real, they are aware of you, they love you and are waiting to help you.

Before I get into the specifics of how Raphael can help everyone, I wanted to say to you Lisa that Archangel Azrael is with your mother and Raphael is with you, as is Mother Mary with you. I will write about Azrael in my next Ask an Angel Intuitive column so please check back to find out who the angel Azrael is and how he is helping your mom. Azrael, Raphael, and Mary want to assure you that your mother wasn't really in her body when she came off life support. She was already on the other side, reunited with those who went on before her, whom she missed very much while alive. She understands how difficult your choice was but holds no judgment on anyone for it. In fact, she says it was a blessed relief to be able to fully let go of her body and be in Spirit and thanks you for that brave decision. She assures you it was the right choice.

Archangel Raphael would like to remind you that your mom is not "dead" just gone on ahead. For your mom, Raphael says with a smile, it is like she went on ahead to a vacation. All is well with mom so be at peace. Call upon Raphael and Mother Mary to help you, Lisa, and send blessings and prayer to Azrael.

Speaking of Raphael's smile, he really is so beautiful. People who have had physical manifestations of Raphael often say he is devastatingly handsome. I would agree. It is strange to think of our archangels in those terms as they are androgynous beings created by God. But we are human after all and we are visual creatures who react to outer appearances and are attached to form.

Raphael appears to me as an average built male on the slender side, and not as strongly built as Archangel Michael. He has large eyes that change color but most often they seem to be hazel, but hazel with many colored lights, especially blues. He appears to me with an oval face, very fair skin, high cheekbones and dark wavy hair to the top of his shoulders. He wears a white robe with gold, blue and green trim around the edge. And when he smiles as he did when giving that message to Lisa it is usually a closed lipped half smile. Very sweet, very gentle.

Raphael's name means "God has healed" and is one of the seven who stand before the throne of God.

His task is to heal the Earth and every thing upon it and not surprisingly he is the Master of all healing on Earth. Regardless of the modality of healing you are using Raphael can assist you as he is also a Master of the energies that create all healing. In fact, he is very powerful in helping you with meditations and any form of inner journey and guided healing work. Raphael is also the angel to call upon for the healing of your animals. Raphael tells me that he worked very closely with Francis of Assisi when he was on Earth.

I know that that many people associate Raphael with the Earth but with me he brings to our sessions a lot of water healing energy. Raphael is also linked to the power of our solar system's Sun. There is an ancient Essene prayer:

Raphael, Angel of Sun, enter my solar center and give the fire of life to my whole body.

It is a powerful statement of intent and since Raphael, like all angels must receive permission to help you, this statement also acts like a phone call out to Raphael, that he can begin to work in your physical energies and within your life.

Astrology Reading Cards - Another Oracle Deck to Love

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to open up a new pack of oracle cards - what fun!! Astrology Reading Cards is a unique oracle deck based on cosmic influences created by astrologer, Allison Chester-Lambert. The illustrator of the cards is artist Richard Crooke.... these cards are real beauties.

Because of my love of Tarot and divination practices in general I have collected Tarot and Oracle cards for over thirty years. Because of the number of decks on the market to choose from has significantly grown in the past few years, there is no way I can keep up collecting all of them. I actually don't even go shopping for new decks to add to my anymore. Still, new cards keeping their way into my hands... instead of me finding them, they find me. This happens because of my work, new decks are occasionally sent to me from the publishers seeking my review.

Because I'm a visual person/learner I cannot just handle the decks and write a review... pictorials are so much more fun to write!!! Check out my new Pictorial of the Astrology Reading Cards. Also, here is a list of other divination card pictorials I've written.

Readers are invited to review their favorite oracle and Tarot decks for publication on this site as well.

The 2012 Readers' Choice Awards is underway. Tarot Art Project

Another fun Tarot project I started last year that has not yet caught fire is the Tarot Art Gallery that I am wanting to create featuring reader submitted artworks of the 22 major arcana. I've only received three artist submissions so far.... but I'm hopeful a few more pushes will get readers excited about it. Com' On! Let me see your art!

Reiki and Intuitively Working with Animals

Reader Question: Hi. I know I have the gift of Reiki and would like to learn to use it to help animals. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! ~Sandra

Response from Rose: Dear Sandra, from your question it sounds like you have an interest in Reiki, a desire to help animals, and are seeking the right class and teacher to assist you.

While Reiki is one of the simplest forms of energy healing to learn, it does require a solid foundation that begins with finding a qualified Reiki Master/Teacher. This is a necessary first step for training and for receiving a Reiki attunement.

Since I began my healing and teaching practice over 16 years ago, the popularity of Reiki has grown and there are many options. I would suggest finding a qualified teacher locally, one with some years of experience as teacher and practicing energy healer, and who is available if questions arise after class. Small class size is best. It is also helpful to have access to a local Reiki community for practice and support. I do not recommend taking any Reiki training from a DVD unless you have already completed training in that level in-person.

I would also suggest choosing to take Reiki classes one level at a time rather than so-called "Reiki intensives" where you are trained in multiple levels in one weekend. There is much more to Reiki than learning "how-to." Each level with its own attunement(s) offers opportunity for spiritual/energetic growth as well as physical healing. Full benefits and awareness only occur when you allow time for daily self-Reiki and gain experience in offering it to others. You will have a much deeper knowledge of Reiki if you are willing to take it one step at a time and allow it to unfold within.

You may wonder why I have not said anything specific regarding Reiki for animals. I have many students who come to me wanting only to work with animals, and I tell them that you must remember that the animals come with people. There is no way in a healing practice to focus only on one species, you must be prepared to understand/work with both since their hearts are intertwined, and that requires a foundation in energy work for people, something any qualified Reiki Master/Teacher can assist you with.

Working with animals is simply an adaptation of basic Reiki training with more reliance on intuition; no special knowledge or hand positions are needed. The best advice I can offer is to ask the animals to be your teachers. They will be the best guides you can ever have.

As you progress in the levels you may wish to supplement your learning with books and quality online classes. These days there are many to choose from, The Everything Guide to Reiki by Phylameana lila Desy offers an excellent overview.

Whatever choices you make, my advice would be to place your reliance on your guides, the Reiki energy and the animals themselves rather than focusing on any one "right" way. The path of daily practice and listening for energetic and intuitive guidance will carry you farther than any book or focus on Reiki hand positions ever will.
