Dear Jaelin,

I just had a miscarriage (first pregnancy, first miscarriage). What can I do to let go of this emotionally and move on to try to get pregnant again (in 2-3 months as my doctor advised)?

Dear Lola,
In all the years I have been working with clients (over 22years), I have had the priviledge to work with many pregnant women, some of whom experienced miscarriages. The common denominator in all those women was that the soul energy of the baby remained with the mother when the circumstances or timing had not been right for the birth at that time.

Therefore, it is the same soul that comes through in the next pregnancy when the timing is better for whatever reason. I have seen this too many times not to trust in it. With my intuitive abilities, I have always been able to 'read' the baby before birth. The soul energy of an incoming baby is extremely strong around the mother for quite some time before birth. Just trust that you will get pregnant again when the timing is right for all involved.

Pass the Placebos Please

New AP article written by Marilynn Marchione making the rounds in news outlets yesterday and today is about the placebo effect being the logic behind why unproven alternative medicines work. Her assertion is that certain healing modalities are effective because we want to believe that they work, and nothing more. OKAY, Maybe SO in some incidences, but not so fast. BUT, why do we care? If a therapy results in wellness does it really matter if it is actually the cure or simply the vehicle that got you to the cure through believing?

Placebos are "fake medicines" that actually work because our minds believe that they are real. Tricky, huh? The power of the mind can be a miraculous healing machine.

Nobody wants to hear that a natural treatment they have been using as an effective pain reliever is actually "fake" and that they were gullible to have believed that it was making them better. If someone were to tell me "It is your mind that is making you feel better stupid, not that wacky treatment!" my response to that person would be something like "Okay, whatever. But since I feel better, I don't see the harm." Obviously, that person is not happy I'm feeling better, OR, he has a rigid personality who has a strong need for proof. For me personally, I just want to feel better. I'm not struggling with a need to know everything. Although, I would likely be willing to stop using a treatment that is making me feel better if it were proven to me that it was my mind alone making me feel better and not the treatment. I would bless the "therapy-crutch" that lead me to the understanding that my mind was the actual healer and let it go.

If it were true that my healing was the result of believing wouldn't that make my "mental thinking" the placebo then? I mean, could it be scientifically proven that the mind can heal the body's ailments? Hey, we may be delving into the realm of miracles here. And, we know that science eyes miracles as occurences that require dissecting.

I probably love placebos more than any other kind of medicine. Why??? Because, if something truly is a placebo then the mind has proven itself to be powerful. Empowerment - now that is something to feel good about!

Law Firm Soliciting Interviews with Sweat Lodge Participants

Last week, after I reported that a third person is suing James Ray and the owners of Angel Valley Resort near Sedona, AZ I speculated if this was an indication that a class action lawsuit might be in the making.

James Ray is the self-help entrepreneur who lead a sweat lodge ceremony inside an ill-conceived dome-shaped structure on October 8th. There were approximately 50 to 60 participants. Twenty one of these individuals were taken to area hospitals after becoming ill for treatment. Three people died. Dennis Mehravar joined the earlier civil law suit filed in Flagstaff AZ on behalf of another survivor Sidney Spencer. Mehravar passed out in the sweat lodge, was hospitalized, and is still experiencing pain and dizziness.

Sure enough, it has been brought to my attention by one of my readers (thanks tbode) that the law firm representing Spencer and Mehravar have created a Web site -sweatlodgeinvestigation.com- for the purpose of soliciting interviews from other participants.

The first lawsuit resulting from this tragic event is a wrongful death suit filed on behalf of the family of Liz Neuman, a Minnesota woman who was the third person to die after the tragic Arizona sweat lodge ceremony.

Global Intention Heals Project

The Global Intention Healing Project is a scientific project undertaken by Adam DreamHealer to study the effect of projected intentions by documenting brainwaves of a volunteer via EEG testing. The Global Intention Healing Project was conducted on November 8. In a press release published today you can read about Christine's personal experience while undergoing the project. You can also view a this seven minute video posted on You Tube that was filmed on the day of the test.

I'm really sorry that this global healing project did not come to my attention until after the fact. There is no feeling like getting your invite to the party late, huh? The full scope of this project has yet to be analyzed. Results will be posted at intentionsheals.com. I'd like to invite anyone who attended the workshop or who participated globally in this project to share their own experiences under comments.

Sweat Lodge Tragedy Time Line

Kinerk, Schmidt & Sethi, PLLC, the law firm representing Sidney Spencer and Dennis Mehravar, have created a Web site for the purpose of soliciting interviews from other participants.

Many of my readers have asked me to continue keeping them informed on any new developments on this story. So, of course I will continue to report updates regarding the Arizona sweat lodge tragedy that occurred in October as soon as I know about them. I have gathered past reports and compiled this time line. I will expand the time line as additional news to this sad story unfolds. Weighing in on the healing properties of silver and copper

In October I read Melinda Beck's article Metal: Panacea or Placebo published in The Wall Street Journal. I tucked the url inside my not-so-organized favorites because I planned to explore this subject further. Oh... so many back burners pushed further and further back in my favorites. Arghh...

Anyway, Beck wrote an extremely thorough reporting of various metals used for health conditions, both in the past and presently. And, I will admit her article is an informative and interesting read. However, I felt at the time the slant of the article was giving copper (and all metals in general) a bit of a bad rap. So, today, my spirit was rallied when I read about Dana Filoti incorporating the antimicrobial properties of silver and copper to create thin films to help reduce infections rampant in hospital settings.

Filoti is a graduate student in physics at the University of New Hampshire. While researching the hypothesis that a silver and copper might work best in concert to kill bacteria she has reportedly been able to reduce the amount of microbes present on a surface by 99 percent. That's pretty darn impressive! Her findings were presented today (November 12) at a meeting of the scientific society AVS in San Jose.

Last year the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officially registered copper alloys, allowing them to be marketed with the label "kills 99.9% of bacteria within two hours."

Hi Madeleine,

I have 1 year 4 month old Great Dane female. Ever since I got Zoey at age 2 months she has been driving with me in my car. But since she reached 1 year she would get very scared and even start shivering, especially at robots. She should be use to car rides. Why is Zoey scared now?

Hi Hanjo,
Luckily, I have just returned from working in South Africa, so I know what you mean by Robots! Robots are solar-powered traffic lights in the UK. Think back as to whether you have had any problems with the men who hang around at the robots asking for work or selling things. Zoey is showing me some concern about this and I think she's either been frightened perhaps without you knowing it. Or, because she is bigger and more mature now, she may be picking up on some anxiety that you might be feeling either now or in the past. Animals know so much more about our emotional state than we realise. Have a think back and see if you can find the trigger.

The Australian Bush flower emergency essence can be very useful for fear or rescue remedy with the Bach Flower remedies is another great calming remedy. This could be given before a journey until she gets used to the fact that you are both safe and nothing is going to happen. Be mindful of your state of mind. Project calm leadership energy and this will help enormously.

Thank you Madeleine, (see attached foto of Zoey and me.) Well, once the car we drove in died at a busy robot. And I got very stressed. That's the only thing I can think off. I was very stressed and the road was busy. There have also been people that would come to the car a beg, but nothing bad would happen. I have also noticed that she does not like it when someone wears a cap/hat or any thing that covers the head. Thank you very much for your reply. We will be moving soon. Zoey had an "episode" a while ago when we first moved. I was very worried then but she is much better now. Maybe I can contact you again when we move so I can make everything as comfortable as possible for my baby... Hanjo
