Watching General Hospital yesterday, I had a few observations:

The new Molly is cute. She looks like Alexis' daughter and Kristina's sister for sure.
Kristina and Molly are not only half-sisters, but cousins as well! "Hi, this is my sister and my cousin, Molly." Anyone remember Chinatown?
Olivia tells Johnny: "You're almost as old as my son." Yes, that's true. Her son as played by Dominic Zamprogna is 31, Brandon Barash is two months shy of 30, and Lisa LoCicero is 39. I frankly think Zamprogna looks too old to be Olivia's son. I figure it this way - and I already posted this - Maurice Benard is 46, so Olivia is around the same age, making it possible that she has a 30-year-old son. I think then they should have gotten a 46-year-old actress. By the way, my sister thinks Dominic looks like Nikolas.
Michael (Drew Garrett) had such a pleasant look on his face as he pointed out the spot of Jason's accident and described the incident to Morgan, that I wasn't sure if he was planning on replicating the accident or what. He may have been directed that way to keep us guessing. It was a chilling moment because that Michael is a loose canon.
If yesterday's shower is any indication, apparently Spinelli can't sing, though Bradford Anderson can! This should be really funny.

In reading over the comments regarding the "save our show" petitions and letters, I thought about what I would like to see more of/less of on General Hospital.

I'm in agreement - less mob. Not no mob - the mob would be okay if the writers could come up with a really neat story, something besides a gang war. Bring back Faith Roscoe maybe.
More comedy like they've been doing lately. I still remember Alexis and Ric getting lost in the woods.
A private life for poor Jason - maybe have him vacillating between Elizabeth and Sam.

Stuart Damon Returning to Daytime...On Another Soap

Our beloved Stuart Damon, who played Alan Quartermaine for 31 years, is headed to As the World Turns , according to a report in Soap Opera Digest.

Damon's character was killed off during the MetroCourt crisis. Viewers were outraged. Alan then returned from time to time as a ghost.

Now it seems that As the World Turnshas him, along with Lynn Herring.

General Hospital's loss is now another gain for ATWT.

Fans Unite to Save 'General Hospital'

Upset by pathetic ratings, fans of General Hospital are formally uniting to get ABC/Disney to make some changes.

Here is just part of their statement, with contact information at the end. Don't forget you can also contact General Hospital through the channels listed here as well.

Having joined together to form the SOS/Save Our Soap! GENERAL HOSPITAL Campaign, fans of Sonny and Kate, Jason and Elizabeth, Patrick and Robin, and Jax and Carly share a common goal in asking ABC/Disney to listen to the viewers and make changes.

Over 12,000 postcards have already been sent to ABC/Disney executives to that end. All involved in this campaign want GH to be successful and want to help restore GH to the position it once held. However, as one fan stated, �women, who are the backbone of GH�s viewership, and obviously the most important demographic, resent being virtually banned from their TV screens by being forced to endure the degradation of strong, independent and professional female characters in favor of showcasing immoral, manipulative, lying female characters on a day-to-day basis.

Women viewers have had enough and have decided that GH is no longer entertaining or enjoyable to watch and the ratings reflect that.�

Jerry Jacks Returning

Sebastian Roche fans, take note: Jerry Jacks is returning, but briefly. No word on when.

Roche has been keeping busy in between GH appearances. He's made a film due out in 2010, called L.L., and he's due to appear in a new film, now in pre-production, Shattered Glory. He's also done a voiceover for The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

It will be great to see him back stirring things up on General Hospital.

Jake's to Have 'Open Mike' Night

Once there was the Nurse's Ball, with a myriad of performers, a chorus line at the end, and Lucy Coe somehow losing her clothes.

In these leaner days, we now have open mike night at Jake's, where amateurs can get up and perform. I've also heard it's a karaoke night. Since Jake's now has a piano, both are possible, though it sure looks like karaoake.

Spinelli, whom we all know can really sing, will be one of the performers. As you can see from the photo above, there will be some other participants. Maxie will do a solo number, and Patrick and Robin will also be showing their wares.

Also, Patrick gives Spinelli some pointers before he performs.

I'm glad to see the show using more humor these days. This really should be an episode to remember.

Lexi Ainsworth Put On Contract

That two-faced brat, Kristina Corinthos-Davis, has proven to be very popular with audiences. The actress who plays her, Lexi Ainsworth, has been put on contract.

The 16-year-old Ainsworth will be joined by a SORAS'd Molly soon, to be portrayed by Haley Pullos.

New Writer to Join 'General Hospital' Staff

Producer/writer Josh Griffith will be joining the General Hospital writing staff on a trial basis.

Griffith is a soap veteran and has worked in many different departments. He was the co-creator of Sunset Beach (with Bob Guza). For a time, he was executive producer of The Young and the Restless. Griffith's writing experience includes gigs on One Life to Live, As the World Turns, and Santa Barbara.

Hopefully Griffith can inject some fresh ideas into GH scripts.

Julie Marie Berman: Color Her Busy

Julie Marie Berman is carrying a tough schedule these days. Not only is she still our very own Lulu Spencer, but she's busy working on other projects as well.

Right now, she's filming the pilot for a show called 22 while taping General Hospital. She's also landed the lead in an independent film, Rachel's Return, which will begin filming at the end of July. The producers of GH have been willing to work around her schedule.

This is a new flexibility in soaps - I suppose with the pay cuts, producers don't feel they have a right to curtail a performer's outside projects. Anyway, good for Berman.

Looks Like Steve Burton Will Remain as Jason

Good news for Steve Burton fans and for General Hospital - the news from the west coast is looking good for the actor staying on as .

Right now, the details of his new contract are being negotiated.

As I wrote earlier, I suspect that viewers won't be seeing the character as much as they do now.

Jason's private life - he doesn't have one - once Burton's contract is settled, we may see some action in that department. Supposedly the new promos coming out are heavy with Jason and Sam action. That doesn't mean he and Sam will be an item because promos can be used as teasers, too. He does talk a lot to Sam, so the fact that he spends time with her isn't unusual. The word is that they share a kiss on July 13, but it's platonic.

One columnist still believes that Burton and Sarah Brown have great chemistry, so Jason and Claudia should get together! That would be something.
