Ever since I started accepting Christian testimonies for publication on the site, not a week has gone by that I haven't received at least one meaningful story from a member or visitor about their life transformed through faith. They are real life examples of how a relationship with Jesus Christ can make a difference in someone's life. Many of these salvation stories tell incredible accounts of dramatic change. Now, I'm excited to offer a new way for you not only to tell your story, but show how your faith in Jesus has changed you!

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Lord, so often times, as any other day
When we sit down to our meal and pray

We hurry along and make fast the blessing
Thanks, amen. Now please pass the dressing

We're slaves to the olfactory overload
We must rush our prayer before the food gets cold

But Lord, I'd like to take a few minute more
To really give thanks to what I'm thankful for

For my family, my health, a nice soft bed
My friends, my freedom, a roof over my head

Logos Bible Software 4 Releases Today

The Word is Out—Literally!

Knowing a secret isn't much fun until you finally get to tell someone. So, I'm very excited to be one of the first to announce today's release of Logos Bible Software 4.

I've had a little time to investigate the software, but not enough for a comprehensive review like this one of the previous version, Logos Bible Software 3. This Day in Christian History

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his famous 95-Thesis to the University's bulletin board—the Castle Church door, formally challenging church leaders on the practice of selling indulgences and outlining the biblical doctrine of justification by grace alone.

This act of nailing his Thesis to the church door has become a defining moment in Christian history, symbolic of the birth of the Protestant Reformation.

Martin Luther was a German monk and religious scholar who challenged the unbiblical practices of the sixteenth century Roman Catholic Church and translated the Bible into the German language for common people to read and understand for the first time. More than any other church reformer in Christian history, the impact and influence of Luther's contributions are hard to adequately describe. It's no exaggeration to say that almost every branch of modern Protestant Christianity owes some portion of its spiritual heritage to Martin Luther, a man of radical faith.

The Beginning and the End of Wisdom

(Proverbs 1:7a, SENT)

If the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, what then is the end of wisdom? In this topical devotional, J. Webb Mealy discusses the fear of the Lord and the meaning of Proverbs 1:7a. He suggests that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but not the end of wisdom. To him, the end of wisdom (its goal and aim) is not to fear God, but to fear what God fears.

By surveying the past, Wright helps Christians better understand the opposing views on the validity of the Bible and the questions that today's skeptics often ask. He recommends a path for getting back on track with kingdom purposes and leaving behind the Bible wars.

What Does the Bible Say About Halloween?

Christian perspectives on Halloween are strongly divided. Here are three differing views to consider:

"... Halloween is anything but harmless. It focuses one's attention on witchcraft and demonism, which flies in the face of the holy God Almighty! "... Rather than 'hide' in the face of evil, we should unabashedly and boldly create an alternative that is positive and uplifting; that celebrates good over evil and the triumph of God over Satan. "Not all believers should celebrate Halloween. For those who have been redeemed from the occult, Halloween in its foolishness may contain what was for them deadly seriousness ... Holding their opinions as appropriate for most believers is like having a former bulimic dictate how Christians should regard church hot-plate socials ...
